There is a fine line separating the acts of helping and destroying: help just right or help too much to become destructive. Keeping in mind, we are helping only if we leave some room for others to have a sense of achievement of their own. Even a sense of a very small achievement can help a person to develop characters, mental health, as well as physical health. When we are helping, be aware not to rob that sense of achievement from the person whom we try to help.
"If being loved is your goal, you will fail to achieve it. The only way to be assured of being loved is to be a person worthy of love, and you cannot be a person worthy of love when your primary goal in life is to passively be loved." - from The Road Less Traveled by M. Scott Peck, M.D.
