My husband and I helped a friend pack for her moving date is this weekend. She shared some of her memories on some old books and old photos with us. We had fun going over them.
Afterward, my husband and I went to watch a movie called "The Day After Tomorrow".
It started out with a theory about the global warming causing devastated weather change, temperature dropped and bringing us back to ice age. From theory it brings to reality, it happens too soon and it's way way before the time expected.
In one scene, this old professor said something that caught my ears. One gentleman with him in the weather station knew they will die and he will not see his child growing up because the place where the station is will be destroyed by the ice storm. He said that he wished he can see his child growing up and the professor reply gently, "At least your child will grow up!" That's quite heartwarming and peaceful at the moment of facing death.
Our children will grow up with or without us. That's a comforting thought. As parents, though, we still like to be there if possible. We like to give our support and guidance to our children if that's God's will.
