Our neighbor friends who have moved to a big house with six acres of land in Fairfax station invited us for a luncheon gathering this afternoon. We got a chance to see their daughter and family, in-laws and in-laws' friends. We had a wonderful time. Their daughter gave birth to a second son quite a few months now and we finally got a chance to meet him. When people different than his mom were carrying him, he would make a sad and crying face but he wouldn't cry as if he wanted to know, “Where is my mommy?” After a little while he would be all ok. I was amused by seeing his reaction. What an easy and happy baby he is!
I met a new friend who is an eighty-one years old veteran from Marine. He knows how to do a perfect cube root from a huge number over 6 digits in his head and if not perfect cube root, he can do it by long hand calculation. It was quite impressive. Of course, he didn't mind to show me so I learned. It was fun.
Of course there were lots of good food and desserts!
Oh, the highlight of the afternoon was when a group of deers walked across the front lawn and around the back and settled down having their early dinner. Everyone just followed the deers around inside the house and stared. Funny part was at somepoint the deers just stared back as if they also discovered us "humans there inside that house".
We are so thankful that our friends are always thinking of us and thoughtful including us in the gathering. We had a lot of fun.
