Today is my younger son’s birthday. He is serving US Army active duties in Afghanistan. We are proud of him. Thanks for serving the country and the people in Afghanistan! Happy Birthday with much love! May he absorb much life experiences to extend his growth forever more!
He has been serving US Army Nation Guards for six years and taught Physics in Mount Vernon HS for four years. He was called for active duties in February getting trained in Fort Bragg for the deployment to Afghanistan. He has been deployed over three months, which he called, a yearlong vacation. He misses his students and teaching at MVHS very much but his passion of teaching continues with his platoon soldiers. He works hard and takes upon many responsibilities. With his younger sister’s help, he is able to keep up with his Webb logs, sharing his adventure, experiences and many photos taken in Afghanistan with family and friends. We are very grateful for that.
I am thankful for him trusting in me with his classes while he's on those Guard trainings, which gave me great opportunities to learn and grow as well.
