Vita-Mix
My husband got a new toy from Costco today. I think it's more for me than for him because every time they have demo on this product in Costco, I always glue to the station until they finished performing with this versatile appliance. In less than 30 minutes, there are salsa, smoothie, hot soup and ice cream made in front of your eyes. Its amazing performance always fascinates me. I have been watching it performed for years but I can't justify myself to get one because I have already had a blender and a smoothie maker(yenny's door prize actually)
Thanks to my husband this time, he made the decision for me and he determined to get one even before the demonstration started.
When we got home, we watched the Quick Start Instructional Video and read the Getting Started Cookbook. Then we got busy with the Vita-Mix making simple food juice (orange, apple, banana and ice) and hot soup (carrot and leek). We got familiar with its functions. There are three switches to be handled: variable or high (always start with variable), speeds 1-10(always start with #1, then turn quickly to other setting depend what we are making), and on or off(set variable #1 before turn on switch).
The juice was a little thick so we add some cranberry juice with it and tasted pretty good even my mother-in-law liked it. The texture of the hot soup came out nicely, the leek flavor was a little too strong for my mother-in-law but my husband and I were ok with that. We will try something new tomorrow.
