Today is once every four years' Inauguration Day. I watched a little bit of inauguration ceremony and also a little bit of the protestors. One can only pray for our leaders to do the right things in the future.
It's a very nice meeting at Burke TM Club tonight. I didn't make any speech, but I have learned alot from the five well prepared speeches from other members. There were speech with sincerity, body lauguage speech, humorous speech, get to the point speech, and vocal variety speech. If I was an evaluator, how would I evaluate different speech? I also learned much from listening to the five evaluators. I learned much from the impromtu speakers for the Table topics (theme: sibling rivalry)1) Any personal experience or observed experience 2)If you are President Bush's sibling, what goes through your mind for his accomplishment 3)How to use sibling rivalry as a positive tool for teaching the children? Particularly, the last one had two good points for the parents: don't compare, don't compete, let each be oneself as individual person.
I particularly enjoyed the joke of the day. This driver pressed his acceleration as much as he could when he saw a yellow light turning to red passing the intersection, the passenger got nervous and told the driver that he just passed a red light. The driver assured the passenger that it's ok because his brother does that all the time. The driver did that again and again for three red light. The passenger got very uncomfortable, but the driver assured him that's ok because his brother does that all the time. Then it came another red light turning to green, but this time he slammed on the brake as hard as he could. The passenger asked him what he did that for. He answered that he was afraid his brother might be crossing the intersection from the other road.
