Sister-in-law and her husband visited for the Lunar New Year greetings this morning and we had lunch together and had fun chatting. Nephew is planning a semester studying in China next year. We are pretty excited for him.
This afternoon, Son invited us (my husband and me) to this church for the Lunar New Year celebration for the evening.
We had to memorize one scripture because we might be picked to recite the scripture or we might have to do some dancing. The atmosphere was full of joy and laughter. The theme throughout the function was to be a good neighbor. There were greetings, skids, poems, play, singing and praising and lots of food.
I have an open invitation to a Mandarin spoken bible study on Friday. I think I can practice my listening skill in Mandarin.
By the way, the scripture to be memorized is in 1 Corinthians 12:22-23.
"On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and the parts that are less honorable are treated with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty."
