Today, I accepted a substitute-teaching job for a special education teacher who teamed up with another teacher so it was an easy day. I had some good cake from the workroom for St. Patrick's Day! Yummy!
It was a fun night at Burke Toastmaster Club meeting. The atmosphere was like we were in an Irish Nightclub, just without the liquor, hehe. It was entertaining with the introduction of St. Patrick’s Day, Word of the day “Jig”+ “NINA”, Joke of the evening “left the wheel chair at the bar”, the table topics 1) would you rather have a traffic gridlock or have ice-cream headache 2) would you rather have the height increased daily or have the age 3) would you rather have snow grounded beef, or see every face as Albert Einstein 4) you rather have growing eyebrow crawling over your face or have a trail of paprika everywhere you go. We got some really funny response. We have a ball. Of course, we had some nice speeches: #1 icebreaker speech which earned the speaker some cupcakes and #10 inspiration speech which earned the speaker a CTM pin and a cake for completing last speech of the series, #2 organized speech presented by me, and the contest speech presented for the feedback from all fellow toastmasters because the area contest will be on this Saturday. Following the speeches, there were great evaluations and we all learned much from each other. I got some good tips to work on to improve my speech “Ready for Challenge”
