Happy Lunar New Year Again!
Mother-in-law usually makes the second day of the lunar New Year an Opening of the year. I don't know why my children kept thinking it's the Day of People. Just like the eve, we are having the feast ceremony, giving thanks to the heaven and earth and honoring our ancestors; suppose after that, we are free to do our own things otherwise we have to be careful not to say this and not to do that. Don't ask me why because it's never been explained. Anyway FYI, according to some chinese book, the first eighth days of lunar year are assigned for something:
The first day is the day of chickens;
The second day is the day of dogs;
The third day is the day of pigs;
The fourth day is the day of rams;
The fifth day is the day of cows;
The sixth day is the day of horses;
The seventh day is the day of people; and
The eighth day is the day of grains.
