Saturday (sabado) January (enero) 28, 2006 is our Lunar New Year Eve
There are soup dumplings, feast ceremony, family time and some more cleaning ritual before new year day. (I remember when we were small we went out and shout: sell laziness and sell ‘til new year eve)
Bless my mother-in-law's heart that she has lots of festival mood and energy. Early in the morning she had already used the prepared pastries to give thanks to the heaven and the earth and to honor our ancestors. She had also prepared chicken, meat, and vegetables for cooking the feast to honor our ancestors today.
Sister-in-law and her husband came to join our celebration. We are very thankful. All the children are off today and come home to celebrate this lunar new year eve, especially younger son is home (not oversea) with us this year, then older son got married in October and daughter-in-law is very prepared for the lunar new year (have red envelops ready for the siblings and cousins and very excited to give them out). We have lunch together. I got to shopping with daughters and younger son while daughter-in-law was preparing the materials for children's sunday church tomorrow and older son was charging up more energy for more fun with wife's family later. After dinner with other children and friend, we had good time chatting, even into some bible verses about some law in the Old Testament. After that I got to shopping with husband in the evening. It’s a fruitful trip.
May the coming year be even better than this year!
