We studied the book of Obadiah at our tonight bible study. Do we have a deceiving heart? We learned from Edom how his pride in his heart deceived him and got him brought down. We too are often so proud of our performance and boast about ourselves that we forget who gave us the opportunity and who gave us the strength and wisdom to handle the challenge.
Obadiah 1:3-4
3 The pride of your heart has deceived you, you who live in the clefts of the rocks and make your home on the heights, you who say to yourself, 'Who can bring me down to the ground?'
4 Though you soar like the eagle and make your nest among the stars, from there I will bring you down," declares the LORD.
