Yeah, it's birthday lunch on the birthday eve of husband. Sister-in-law couples and nephew joined us at noon. Younger daughter made a delicious cake and got here in time before husband headed out for Toastmaster Area Governors meeting. Son and daughter-in-law showed up afterward...daughter's "new life" show up...then younger son... then older daughter came back from NJ. We had a grand time without the birthday boy. hehe..I had a chance to practice some jokes.
Husband came back around 4pm and had a chance watching football games with older daughter, son and daughter-in-law. I was thankful that they could stay and joined us for dinner.
Today's sermon topic is "To receive the reward from our heavenly father". The pastor urged us to examine our motives carefully when we pray, give charity, and perform service. Are we looking for the praise of people? Are we serving for our own glory? Whose reward are you rather to receive?
I didn't stay for the Sunday School but had a chance to chat with the new couples and a few other members before I left.
