As Christmas approaching, people all around the world are celebrating with great Christmas spirit, love and care, for their friends and family. It's amazing how God's love and grace works in everyone of us in this particular season. Wish this great Christmas spirit staying in our hearts all year long!
Our today sermon is to examine the meaning of Christmas. Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Christ. Why was Christ born to the earth? We review Genesis 1 and see how God created the world, heaven and earth, in the very beginning and everything was good. Then Adam broke the law by eating the forbidden fruit and brought sin to the whole mankind.
Then we went on to reveiw John 1 and see how the word (Christ) was with God in the beginning and through Christ all things were made. The word became flesh and dwelt among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Christ, Son of God, came to the world to fulfill the law, being the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world. Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
John 1:16From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another. 17For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only,who is at the Father's side, has made him known.
I am thankful for God's grace and truth through Christ giving me much in life, making him known to me, awakening and guiding me so that I can be aware of God's presence every moment and have hope to live freely to do His good work, not just Christmas time.
