On the way to NJ, we picked up nephew who's attending at the University of Pensylvania and planning to go home this weekend. We kind of circled around a little bit before getting to his place. We made it to NJ about noon time. We had lunch at sister-in-law's house and she tried a bowl of shark fin squash soup that we made at home and carried along to share with others. As she drank and examined the soup, she asked where's the squash. She thought that the squash parts were real shark fin. We explained to her what the shark fin squashes are like and how amazingly these mysterious squashes were given to us by growing in our garden. I think she enjoyed the soup and agreed to keep a bowl for her husband to try.

After lunch, we went to NY Chinatown shopping for a few things before heading to my father's place. We got there before my brother came home from work, but father, nephew, sister-in-law, niece and three grandnephews were there to welcome us. I had fun playing with grandnephews. The twins are getting bigger since last time we saw them. Now one weighs 8 lbs and the other weighs 10 lbs. After brother came home, we had dinner together and all enjoyed the shark fin squash soup very much. We are thankful that we had this one last squash to share.

When I shopped at a herbal shop earlier in NY Chinatown, I met a lady who tried to buy some herbal medicine to make soup to heal her throat because she was nearly losing her voice. She seemed very friendly and tried to explain why she nearly lost her voice.

Today's quotes:
"I don't know why I had to quarrel with people so much that I am nearly losing my voice."

"You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures." James 4:2-3
